Dr. Swamy Laxminarayan Remembered

We at Princeton Autism Technology are sad to see our friend and incredible mentor "Dr Swamy " leave this world. We are grateful to have known him, and to have had him acknowledge the PAT family as dear friends. We have collaborated with Swamy for only the last 2½ years, yet have been blessed with a lifetime′s worth of his impact to us personally and in our technology-based initiatives to improve autism treatment, education and research.

Swamy was such a passionate, charismatic, yet humble "autism researcher" who volunteered many late nights and weekends to lead us in adopting paradigm-shifting approaches. He taught us to "shoot for the stars, and settle for the moon" to bring bioengineering principles to use Health Informatics, data capture technology, and telehealth to improve treatment and research of autism. Beyond his incredible interest and insights to unravel autism′s mystery by leveraging bioengineering expertise, Swamy′s warm heart reached out to us as an incredibly empathetic friend, helping us deal with my own children′s challenges and sharing his deep concerned for countless other families.

Those who knew Swamy have seen him achieve many great things for an incredible spectrum of worthwhile health, education, and political endeavors. We at PAT want to share with the autism community the great contributions made by Dr. Laxminarayan, and we will forever be grateful that he chose to share his time, expertise, and compassion so selflessly to make such a difference. As hard as it is now without him, we will persist in this inevitable quest BECAUSE of him.
